May 21, 1944

Dear Florence-

You can tell the family that mail this week has been nil. No doubt that is due to the change in my A. P. O. a little over two weeks ago. When I left the other station I left word to forward any mail here to A. P. O. 113, and for a few days they came thru alright- but lately- no. I had hoped my cable would reach you but it seems to be against censorship regulations they change so much it is hard to keep up with them. The last time I cabled you a change in address was OK- but not this time.

Anyhow you and the children must have received a few letters from me after the change so you know about it. I did get a package with the insignia, but have only received two separate packages of cigarettes. I have been able to manage the smoking situation pretty well, however. As of to-day I still have one full carton and six full packs in reserve, and to-morrow I can draw a
