England

October 23, 1944

Dear Florence,

By now you no doubt have received the letter I wrote Nancy telling that I was in the British Isles. As a matter of fact I am now in Wales. But with the exception of about two days the weather has been atrocious, and so limits ones activities to get about very much. As a result I have done very little except eat sleep and read.

This place is operated as a hospital plant. So that one has the advantage of talking to American nurses. Most of them have only recently come over from the States, so that for the first four days here it was interesting to catch up on the news. Saturday night there was a dance at the officers club.
