Dear Florence-
Here I am back from four days in London, which was pretty full, and so loafing is once again enjoyable. By way of diversions in London I saw two shows and one football game.
The football game was mainly for the armed forces in England. The teams were made up of the better college boys now in the service here, and the game was in effect, a substitute for the Army-Navy game in the States. It is best explained by the enclosed clipping, a masterpiece of British reporting.
A musical show by the name of “Something in the Air” bored me for three hours one night. Home, it would be lucky to survive the opening night but here it has been running for six months. An English musical show is something to be avoided unless one is in the final stages of ennui. They are, of course, void of any theme or
