9-Dec-‘65

Hows everyone feeling? Im feeling fine! Today I threw a line grenade. We got up a half an hour earlier. We had to carry our rifle and our packs out to the grenade area. It was about a three mile walk. We double timed most of the way out there. First they gave us a class on the different kinds of grenades. Then they made us throw a few dummy grenades. Then we got in a single line and were led through a tunnel. There we were lined up. They had helped us on exactly what to do. One man at a time went up to the pit and was handed a grenade. There were two sargents[sic] standing by us. When I went up they gave me the grenade
