31 July ‘66

Dear Billy, Cathy + Lisa,

Hope everyone is fine. Im okay. Well out we go again. Where going out tomorrow for seven days.

This morning when I woke up I thought I was home. It was pretty cold. It felt like a winter morning. I had to sleep under my blanket it was that cold.

We had a change of Battalion commander today. We had a new guy as our leader now. I think I’ve finally caught up on all my mail. But I guess when I get back from this operation I’ll have to catch up again. I don’t remember if I told you that Ive been getting letters from a womans organization in N.J. They write to guys over here and send packages too.

Enclosed is a little article about what happened over here. Our company diddn’t[sic] get hit. We have sand bag bunkers to get in. I took a picture of
