Hi Billy,

Hope everyone is okay Im fine. We got back from our operation last night. We got some good news tonight. We won’t be going out on another [long?] operation for three weeks. We will be escorting convoys and things like that. Well I had written you a letter out in the field but it got messed up so I’ll write in this one some of the things I had in that one. I’ll try to tell you what happened on that operation.

First of all I got your letter with the pictures of the car. It’s real nice, good luck with it Everybody looks real wet in those pictures That’s what kind of raincoat I need over here.

About our operation. It lasted six days. The first day there was a B52 attack on the place we were to go into. It came early in the morning while we were still back at base camp. The whole battalion pulled out we went across the river into the plantation.
