out an area. We pulled into a small clearing. There were trees and bushes all over. We had just about set up in a [angle?] when we see (my truck) a V.C run behind us. He got out of his little hole and was running into the bushes. He was no more than ’50 feet maybe less away. Then all hell broke loose. The 50 calibers where tearing up the place. It lasted maybe 10 minutes The V.C. where completly[sic] surprised and out classed. We had three guys wounded not to seriously though. They dragged the bodies ^V.C.^ out and you should have seen the holes in some of them. In a way it wasn’t a pretty thing to see. But that’s war I guess. One of the V.C. had just about his whole head blown off. Another had no legs. One a big hole in his chest. You could see the intestines. We captured a lot of weapons and a
