Hi Billy,

Hope everyone is okay, I’m fine. Recieved[sic] your letter and the articles. Where still out in the field. Where taking part in operation “Junction City.” We have been up in this area over 40 days now. And theres no telling how long we’ll be here. There’s troops all over the place. There cleaning this place out real good this time. We were up in this same area in Nov. When we got there 11 Charlie’s. Then (in Nov.) it was real wet up here and we couldn’t go every place. Because we would get stuck. Now it’s real dry and “dusty.” We can go anywhere. The dust is really something. You should see how we look after riding around awhile. But there’s usually enough water to wash up with at night. About two weeks ago we got hit with mortars.
