20 March 44

Hi Darling;

Got 2 letters from you to-day. Crying out loud - one was postmarked the 15th the other the 17th. The mail service is really poor here and I'm not kidding.

Had our first class is power turrets today. They are a wonderful mechanism - quite complicated + they cost $16,000 apiece - so you can see that war goods are quite expensive. This wk we go out on the range and shoot with 12 gauge shotguns. And next wk we start shooting the machine guns. A .50 calibre will go thru 5 feet of concrete they tell me. Sort of powerful eh?

The time is fairly flying along for me, but I can hardly wait to see you. About 5 more weeks of school + I'll be through I hope, I hope.

Am sending you a shoulder patch, So you can get a good look. They are kinda loud I think.

Don't know if I'll have time to write tomorrow night or I go to class, will see though.

I want you to know that I would like very much to be your boy friend + that I love you very very much + would like to go steady. What do you think? Please let me know

Love + Kisses

Kenje
