3 April 44

Hi Darling;

Well another day. Am not quite the eager kid since they disbanded the delay en route. However I understand the squadron who is graduating this week is getting a delay I hear - so you can never tell. We can both hope, can't we?

I fired machine guns today from a ball turret mounted on a truck. Fired 400 rounds at moving targets + scored pretty good I think. Man but those things are noisy. Especially when about 20 of them are chattering at the same time. After that we went over to the shotgun range + shot about 90 rounds with 12 gauge shotguns. We shot at clay pigeons from a moving truck. That's sure tough in the shoulder, shooting that many shells in about 15 minutes or less. A 12 gauge is a pretty big gun for me.

Darling this no delay business is getting in my craw, I feel especially for you - I know how you've planned on it + so have I, but we'll just have to hope for the best.
