Darling,

Just received your letter of the 4th of Jan + Mom's of the 6th Jan. In the letter you said you'd received the letter I'd written Christmas - guess that's all the mail you'll be getting for about a month.

Was very surprised to hear that Bill Hendricks was home, until I read the article you sent about his crash landing. He didn't have very many missions did he? It says he landed about 30 miles from the front. We were in about the same fix + landed about 10 miles back Boy was I scared when I heard the big guns. I'm bow legged but the old knees were really knocking. In a way I envy him being home, but am not in too big a hurry
