Hi Darling,

I've just been rereading some of that batch of back mail I got. I received one V-Mail in tonights mail. It's the first I've received since you had word we were safe. Mac had written from Roumania [sic.] before he knew about the censorship rules but evidentally [sic.] it went thru! They told us that the home folks would received word in 36 hrs. After we returned to Italy we received the sad news - no telegrams were sent till we arrived in person for interrogation. So it seems that Mac's letter beat even the War Dept telegram. Had they been right in Roumania [sic.] you would have received word at least five days before Mac's letter.
