27 Feb 45

Hi Darling,

Another swell day which I spent with the usual leisure.

No mail this evening, darn the luck - guess I'm too greedy about getting mail - never satisfied.

Got a letter from Al Keebler + Ed Saida last evening. Seems that Al is about due to head out to sea again. His sister who lives in Sterling had written him about our bail out + he thought we were still MIA till he got my letter recently. Ed is in Southern France in a comparatively quiet sector since he got out of the hospital. He told me about one of the former Grant boys who was sent back to the states because of quite serious injuries. I don't think you even knew the guy however. So - I'm in debt two more letters on top of the rest I owe.
