24 March 45

Hi Darling,

Received one V-mail of the 12th tonight. Damnation any how those V-mails come through so regularly but your airmail letters are forever and a day in arriving, makes me so darned mad. Just don't have patience whatsoever like I used to.

Didn't do anything to day as usual, except take naps all day long: This is the life of Reilly but boring for some reason or another.

The war news in Europe is very encouraging, wouldn't surprise me if it ended before I get home but then you can never tell. I think that Kraut is stalling in order to send out sympathy feelers + casting about for a likely goat to take all the blame. I pray the people aren't taken in by their cunning. Hope to see Germany + Japan de-industrialized for a long time. Surely the world can forgo modern [contrivances?] for the sake of lengthy peace.
