23 March 45

11:30 PM

Hi Darling,

Received an airmail + V-mail both of the 13th yesterday a V-mail of the 10th + an airmail of the 7th. Almost invariably V-mail seems the most expedious [sic.].

I've been a very lazy boy since I haven't written in two days. Have really been loafing up till tonight. Had guard duty from 6-11. Damn relief was an hour late but I honestly can't feel real mad.

Will be coming home before too long. Wow I'd really like to get home any time during June, but it'll probably May or an outside chance of April, but I really prefer to hang around if possible cause there so much more we could do during June. Gee it's nice to have a peace of mind - no sweeting, can't exactly explain how I really feel, but it's good.
