<p>We read in the <hi rend="italics">Illustrated London News</hi>:&mdash;<lb>
&ldquo;Mr. John Ruskin, it is well known, has formed a collection of drawings by the late J. M. W. Turner, R. A. The &lsquo;Graduate of Oxford&rsquo; is still an honorary student of Christchurch, and, conceiving that the study of Turner&apos;s matchless works must recessarily be beneficial to the intellectual culture of the rising youth of the University, he has proposed to Convocation to present the contents of his portfolios to Wadham College, where each &lsquo;thing of beauty&rsquo; is to be a &lsquo;joy for ever.&rsquo; The offer made by Mr. Ruskin is as generous as we trust its acceptance by the authorities of the University of Oxford has been graceful.&rdquo;</p>
